Work from home

Opportunity in a leading Trading Company in Central London. Their trading activities span a broad range of goods and commodities. You will be working in the Chemicals Division managing and optimising current business accounts as well as developing new business.

Key responsibilities

  • Successfully manage and optimise current business accounts.
  • Assist in resolving any client issues that may arise.
  • Identify and successfully deliver new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for business and market expansion by developing new business opportunities, investigating new potential business fields, increasing volume of sales and acquire new customers.
  • Define, develop, build and successfully manage new business accounts.
  • Contact potential and existing customers directly to generate market information on quantity, pricing and competition for different markets sectors for Speciality Chemicals, Polymer and Film products.
  • Represent company at meetings and exhibitions.
  • Develop product understanding and management.
  • Travel to various locations nationally and internationally as necessary.
  • Correspond with suppliers and buyers and respond to inquiries. Due to the size of the team commercial team members are also responsible for certain administrative duties related to their role.

Key skills and experience required

  • The ideal candidate will have recent experience in chemical sales, and able to demonstrate good technical knowledge.
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in chemical distribution business.
  • Knowledge of fine chemicals e.g. Industrial, electronic, polymer and/or film products.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and patience required to build long standing relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Fluency in other European languages is desirable but not necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).
  • Able to travel nationally and internationally.
