A global fully integrated commodity Trader are seeking an Assistant Treasury/Trade Finance Manager to join their vibrant London office.

DUTIES:

  • To assist with the management and control of Front and Middle Office operations, providing professional and efficient support to the management and staff within the organisation.
  • Assist with Control day-to-day management and running of Front Office and Middle Office staff
  • Provide ongoing training and motivation to staff
  • Provide advice to members of the organisation, including the initiation and development of financial aspects of transactions
  • Maintain the Group Finance list and IT2 manual
  • Check and sign Trade Finance transactions mailed to banks and financial institutions (to a limit of US$ 1M)
  • Check all transactions over US$ 1M and ensure relevant authorised signatures are provided
  • Participate in the preparation of the Treasury budget
  • Check and authorise Trade Finance Transactions - Import and Export Letters of Credit together with Letters of Guarantee 10 Group Finance
  • Supervise members of staff to ensure that all Group Finance operations are completed in a timely manner
  • Create IT2 manuals for Group Finance companies
  • Supervise Middle Office staff and suggest more efficient ways to support Group Finance 20 Cash Management
  • Monitor cash position ensuring stable and low-cost funding, in addition to optimising interest cost and benefit
  • Raise funds utilising financial instruments such as the issuance of EMTN, ECP and swaps, working closely with dealers to attain the required level of liquidity at the most cost effective rate Monitor the loan portfolio to ensure establishment of appropriate account plans and credit facilities in line with credit policy 20 Trade Finance
  • Supervise members of staff to ensure that all Trade Finance transactions are completed in a timely manner
  • Assist with the system maintenance of IT2 10 Foreign Exchange

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Extensive knowledge of treasury and rates products - FX, MM, Derivatives, Swap, ECP and EMTN
  • A good understanding of accounting and financial principles
  • Thorough understanding of international payments, acceptances, discounting of bills, purchase/sale of foreign exchange and application of fees
  • Knowledge of UCP600, ISBP, UDRG758 and relevant ICC publications with ability to identify all discrepancies in documents presented under letters of credit in order to carry out a reliable second check of documents
  • Good awareness of IT2 and SAP
  • Proficient in the use of MS office, Excel
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • Several years’ experience in a financial institution with relevant experience in cash management, documentary credits, letters of credit and foreign exchange.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Financial or Managerial Studies (including Accountancy)
  • Preferably applicants will have ACT, CDCS or equivalent professional qualification
