Metals Trading Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Ferrous/Alloys Metals Trader to join our team in London. As a leading commodity trader, we specialize in trading various ferrous and alloys metals, and we are looking for a dynamic individual to contribute to our continued growth and success in the market. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ferrous and alloys metals markets, strong trading acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of ferrous and alloys metals markets to identify trading opportunities, trends, and pricing fluctuations. Stay abreast of market developments, geopolitical events, and industry news to inform trading decisions.
  2. Trading Execution: Execute buy and sell orders for ferrous and alloys metals, including but not limited to steel, iron ore, nickel alloys, and other related commodities. Utilize trading platforms and tools to execute trades efficiently and optimize trading strategies.
  3. Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with trading activities, including price volatility, market liquidity, and geopolitical factors. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the company’s interests and optimize trading performance.
  4. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, brokers, and clients to facilitate trading activities and ensure a reliable supply chain. Negotiate favorable terms and agreements to secure competitive prices and optimize trading margins.
  5. Trade Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate trade documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies governing trading activities.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze trading performance, including profit and loss, trading volumes, and market share. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance trading performance and profitability.
  7. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on trading activities, market trends, and portfolio performance. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes and strategic planning.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, exchange rules, and industry standards governing commodity trading activities. Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary measures to remain compliant.
