Gas Trading Analyst

Full Description

Our client, the UKs largest Independent oil and gas company, are looking to recruit a Trading Analyst to join the team based in their London office.

Responsibilities-

• Managing administration of gas sales arrangements (Gas Availability notifications, verification of invoice calculations and prices)
• Run valuations of hedging portfolio, reconcile hedge book valuations versus counterparty MTM statements and settlement values for invoicing, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist in hedge trade execution and trade capture in the Hydrocarbon Management System
• Produce T+1 Management Information for Trading function
• Supporting trade compliance reporting requirements (EMIR, REMIT, EUETS etc.)
• Market data ownership and verification
• Market analysis for gas – reviewing gas market data, news flow, pricing, gas storage data to assist in hedging strategy and gather information relevant to the company’s hedge portfolio
• Assist in post-merger system integration
• Manage ad hoc internal stakeholder requests (Treasury, Audit, Planning and Economics, HSEQ)
• Provide holiday cover & support for team
• Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager

Experience required-

• Relevant degree qualified professional
• Approx 2 years analytics experience
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
• IT literate (including the ability to maintain complicated Excel tools)
• Communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Controls focus
• Resilient under pressure and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
