Exciting opportunity working in a commodity trading company in Central London

Role Scope:

  • Ensuring the timely process of trades; invoicing and settlement reports – reconciliation of clearing accounts
  • Providing trading desk support

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Metals

  • Responsible for the input and validation of trades.
  • Resolving trade queries with brokers and clients.
  • Producing client servicing information as requested.
  • Clearer reconciliation.
  • Supporting the traders and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Monitoring the IT systems to ensure they are working appropriately.
  • Handling all trade transfer requests, HPCs and Metals Swaps obtaining approval from the required departments before inputting and validating the trades.
  • Co-ordinating with Singapore and NY operations team and provide support as requested.
  • Handling all processes related to warrants.
  • Assisting with queries related to transaction reporting.
  • Inputting prices
  • Completing all daily tasks as documented in the daily task list.
  • Carrying out all relevant month-end procedures.
  • Assisting in the production, monitoring and reporting of confirmations.
  • Producing settlement reports for Finance Department.

Monthly operations:

  • Processing monthly averaging.
  • Bringing OTC trades on Exchange via the LME.
  • Producing monthly warrant reconciliations.
  • Handling the option declaration process including close liaison with the front desk.

Other:

  • Working with the Manager on projects and process improvements.
  • Ad-hoc project work as requested, including testing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Person Specification:

  • Previous LME Operations experience required.
  • Understanding of the financial markets.
  • Good communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong word and excel skills.
