Full Description
A leading global commodity trading firm with offices across Europe, Asia and South America.
Responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking analysis of client and market data to assist in developing and executing trades
- Data entry including physical purchases/sales, hedges, freight and logistics costs, any other additional cost related to each transaction
- Cargo Tracking including the setup, maintenance and improvement of a “cargotracking” excel sheet (vessels b/l, destination, ws rate)
- P&L reconciliation – dealing with Middle Office where required
- Market analysis (supply and demand, global crack spreads, margins)
- The production of internal trading activity reports
- Daily updating of internal excel sheets, reflecting the market structure (time spreads)
- Arb and crack calculations.
- Tracking refinery turnarounds
- Risk management and market monitoring
- Dealing with shipping team, other trading desks and the crude oil team in Beijing and Singapore as instructed by traders
- Dealing with counterparties as instructed by traders
- Adherence to internal company policies and procedures, ensuring that appropriate records are maintained for internal and external compliance inspections, planning analysis and audit processes
- Undertake other duties, commensurate to the role in the development of my client’s crude oil business in the region
Personal Specification
- Possess strong quantitative and programming skills
- Demonstrable drive, innovation and a genuine interest in energy trading
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Flexibility to operate in challenging environment
- Organized and have good attention to detail
- Ability to work in a results-oriented environment and capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer relationship skills
- Effective customer service skills
